5 of The Best Hair Removal Products for the Bikini Area that Will Make you Feel Sexy

Summer’s here. What else is new?

Oh yeah, your bikini area requires more attention these days.

Sure it doesn’t mean that in the winter time you forget all about it but in the summer things tend to be a little more pressing. You can’t go to the beach if a single hair from your bikini area is showing from your bathing suit.

At least that’s how I am. A control freak, I know.

The Most Popular Hair Removal Methods for the Bikini Area

Before actually talking about some of the best hair removal products for the bikini area, it would be a better idea to outline some of the hair removal methods for this area.

Shaving

bikini shaving

There’s no pain.

It’s fast, relatively cheap but also short lasting, about 2-3 days and then you have to shave again. Other cons are ingrown hairs and bumps.

Hair removal creams

The advantages and disadvantages are very similar to those for shaving. Additional cons would be skin discoloration and burns.

Also, a very important thing that I want to add is that I wouldn’t recommend removing all the hairs in the intimate area with the help of depilatory creams. They’re mostly great for the bikini line and not for a Brazilian.

The idea is that these creams contain strong chemicals that dissolve the skin and I’m not that sure that those chemicals won’t cause any harm to such a sensitive area.

Waxing

opening wax strip

It’s long lasting, the hairs barely start showing after two weeks.

It hurts and it causes ingrown hairs for some women. Other cons include waiting for about 3 weeks before you can wax again. That’s because the hair must have the proper length so that the wax can pull it from the root and not break it at the surface of the skin.

Also, it’s expensive if you choose salon waxing. It’s cheap if you wax at home.

Epilation

bikini area epilator

Epilators remove hairs from the root, which means that you will have no more hairs in the bikini area or on any other part of the body for 2 weeks up to a month. You get smooth skin without any bumps for a reasonable time period and that’s the biggest reason for using an epilator.

It’s a cheap hair removal method. You pay for an epilator once and hold on to it for at least 2 years. Cons involve ingrown hairs and pain. But don’t worry, there are amazing products for preventing ingrown hairs. I’ve also written a very useful guide on pain reduction, which works for epilation and waxing.

Laser hair removal

It’s a hair reduction method, not a permanent way of stopping hairs from growing. But you can get up to 90% hair reduction. 90% of hairs will not grow for about 2 years. For some it’s painful, the pain is comparable to that caused by rubber bands snap while others feel just pinches.

Electrolysis

You can’t do this at home all by yourself. But it’s the only truly permanent method for getting rid of bikini area hair forever. There is only one con – it’s expensive.Women who can afford it should go for it. Just make sure to get a very good specialist.

My 5 Suggestions for Bikini Area Hair Removal Products

1. Gillette Venus Embrace

Gillette Venus is a wonderful razor as it was made exclusively for women.

It’s one of the best razors that you can get.

So if shaving is your choice, the Venus Embrace may be a great bikini area hair removal product for you.

It has 5 blades so you can be sure that hairs will be cut in a single pass. It has a strip called the Ribbon of Moisture and it should make this razor glide on your skin, without causing nicks or razor burns.

Also, the pivoting head is one of the main reasons that I’ve chosen Gillette Venus Embrace as a top hair removal product for the bikini area. Besides the fact that it offers a really close shave.

2. Veet Gel Hair Remover Cream with Essential Oils

Veet Gel with Essential Oils is an excellent hair removal cream. Do you fancy hair removal creams? Then this should be your first option. Here’s why.

Generally you won’t get burns or skin discoloration when using this product. Even so, even if this is an amazing product I would stick just to my bikini lines when using creams.

It will dissolve the hairs fast and painlessly.

This hair removal cream doesn’t have an obnoxious smell. It actually smells pretty good, thanks to that rose fragrance that’s on the list of ingredients.

So pretty much this is one of the best hair removal products for the bikini line.

3. Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit, 14 Ounce

Well, there’s something that I must say now that we’ve come to waxing. The bikini area is sensitive and gentle, which means basically one thing. It hurts a lot more when hairs are pulled from the root.

To do exactly that, you need to pull the wax in the opposite direction of the hair growth and pull it in a fast quick move.

No hesitations.

If you haven’t waxed all by yourself before, have someone pull the wax for the first sessions, until you get used to the pain.

Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit is everything you need in an at-home waxing kit and it’s cheap. That’s why it’s one of the best hair removal products for the bikini area.

The Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit contains: a wax warmer, Brazilian body hard wax, 10 small accu edge applicators, 10 large accu edge applicators, 10 petite applicators, 1 pre-epilation oil, and 1 post wax cooling gel.

The wax warmer will maintain the wax warm throughout the entire session, whether you’re waxing just the bikini area or your entire body – legs, face, arms, underarms, etc. After that you’ll only need to buy the hard wax.

Also, you don’t need strips for pulling the wax. The warm wax applied on the skin hardens quickly. Pull that hardened wax and it will come off with the hairs from the root.

Just a quick tip: apply small strips of wax on your skin. It’s less painful and more efficient, even if it takes a little longer to have all the hair removed.

4. Braun Silk-Epil 7681

If you want an epilator as the best hair removal product for the bikini area, Braun Silk-Epil 7681 would be my first suggestion. It’s an epilator that can be used to remove hair from the entire body.

Why is Silk-Epil 7681 the obvious choice? Because it has a sensitive area cap perfect for the bikini area and the underarms. It also comes with an efficiency cap and a facial cap so it’s an all body hair removal product.

It’s also one of the most powerful epilators with 40 close-grip tweezers that can remove even the shortest hairs. So even if you have thin or coarse hair this epilator can handle it.

Besides the tweezer head (the one that removes hairs from the root causing some pain) there is also a shaving head and a trimming head. If you can’t handle the pain or the hairs are too long, switch to those two.

An epilator could be a perfect hair removal device for the bikini area.

Braun 7681 is a wet & dry epilator so you can use it under the shower. Due to the hot water, the pores widen and the hairs come out from the root much easily, causing less pain.
