When talking about facial hair removal, I mainly understand upper lip hair removal or at least that’s my first thought on the subject.
Besides my upper lip and my eyebrows, I leave my peach fuzz just as it is and as nature intended it to be.
At least, for the moment.
I’ve only tried three methods for upper lip hair removal.
I’ve tweezed/plucked when I was a lot younger, just like I did and still do with my eyebrows, and I’ve waxed with the help of facial wax strips.
I ended up sticking to wax strips because it’s easy, cheap, and I’ve grown incredibly used to them.
When I get accustomed to something it’s hard for me to make a change, just like it is the case with me and epilators, those hair removal products that I love.
So, a quick update:
At the moment I am using my Braun Silk Epil 9561 to remove my upper lip hairs and I love it. I like it because it’s just easy.
I just attach the facial cap, turn the epilator on speed 1, and in 2 minutes I’m done. It takes longer to apply all the creams after epilation than to have a smooth hairless upper lip.
Even though my peach fuzz is starting to get more and more noticeable as I grow older I still haven’t mustered up the courage to remove it. I’ll just pretend that it isn’t there for now.

Shaving: The Tinkle
If you prefer shaving as a method for getting rid of facial hair then this product may be great for you.
A really awesome razor for this job is called the Tinkle. An alternative is Touch N Brow.
It’s the perfect razor if you want to remove facial hair. It’s not advisable to use razors that you would normally use on your body.
When using the Tinkle, you don’t need to wet your face or use a shaving cream.
Just make those hairs go away on dry skin. The shape of the blade is perfect and the blade is not that sharp so, there’s little risk of cutting yourself.
It shouldn’t cause razor burns or irritations.
Whether you have peach fuzz or coarse hair, the Tinkle is going to handle them. Don’t forget to moisturize after because shaving your face also implies a bit of exfoliation. Therefore, you don’t want to have dry skin.
It’s incredibly fast to shave your upper lip, there’s no faster method for upper lip hair removal. And no pain!
Unfortunately, the biggest disadvantage is that you’re going to shave once every 3 days or so.
Hair Removal Cream: Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo
One of the best ways to remove upper lip hair when deciding to use hair removal creams is to buy the Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo.
Before actually talking a little about this cream, I would like to remind you that first you should do the 48 hour test to see if there are any adverse reactions, like burns. Also make sure to read and follow the instructions.
Everything is very easy when using hair removal creams for upper lip hair removal and there’s no pain.
You simply apply a layer of Olay cream, leave it on for 6 to 8 minutes, no more than 8 minutes whatever the circumstances so don’t forget about it, and after that you wipe the cream with a towel. Or wash it off your face.
The hairs are dissolved during those minutes. After rinsing the skin, all the hairs are gone. No fuss, no pain, but you have to do the whole thing again in 3 to 5 days.
Tweezing/Plucking: Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezer
Tweezing requires a lot of patience. Even plucking your upper lip can take a while. For me it became annoying.
But the results last for at least two weeks in my case.
If you have peach fuzz you can even go for a month until it starts showing. That’s a really big advantage.
The second one is that the pain is not bad because with a tweezer you can’t grab that many hairs at once, contrary to what happens when you use a facial epilator or when you wax.
Thirdly, it’s an incredibly cheap upper lip hair removal option. A tweezer is quite cheap and it stays with you for so many years. You only need a lot of patience.
Waxing: Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit
I’ve already told you that I use facial wax strips but I still believe that hard wax is the best wax there is.
I use wax strips because I’ve never used hard wax at home.
When I was waxing a very big part of my body, I did it at a beauty salon. And, since I have been using an epilator from the neck down, the cold strips are really the best deal for me.
If you want to wax your body hair and your facial hair, I absolutely recommend the Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit. It’s affordable and it has a lot to offer!
If you choose waxing solely for upper lip hair hair removal, then you can do like me and use cold wax strips.
The Gigi Brazilian Waxing Kit removes peach fuzz and coarse. It removes it from the root so it may take up to, usually, at least two weeks before you need to wax again
The only disadvantage is the pain. But that gets better in time so waxing is indeed an attractive solution for getting rid of facial hair.
This kit includes a wax warmer, Gigi Brazilian Body Hard Wax 14 oz which is also the only investment you’re going to make in the future, 1 pre-epilation oil for a little pain reduction, 1 post wax cooling gel for soothing the skin but it doesn’t remove the wax residues, and 2 sizes of accu edge applicators(small and large), 10 of them for each size.
That’s a lot for the money.
Epilation: Emjoi Epi Slim+ e18
Epilators are fantastic for any part of your body, whether you want to have silky smooth legs, perfectly hairless underarms, a bikini line ready for the beach or you want a smooth and clean upper lip, even in the brightest light.
Emjoi Epi Slim+ e18 is one of the best epilator for face.
It can also be used as an epilator for the underarms and for the bikini like so it’s for the sensitive areas of the body.
If you want an epilator for the whole body, including for face, I recommend Braun Silk Epil 7681. It has a special facial cap and a sensitive area cap plus an efficiency one. And it gets out from the root peach fuzz and coarse, as well.
Getting back to my personal recommendation, let me tell you a few words about Emjoi Epi Slim e18 and what are the reasons for choosing it.
It has 18 tweezers. These 18 tweezers rotate, grab many hairs at the same time, and remove them from the root. So it’s a really fast upper lip hair removal product.
Also, since hairs are removed from the root, it takes longer for them to grow back – between 2 weeks up to a month.
The Emjoi Epi Slim is tiny but powerful. Thus, coarse hairs are easily removed from the root. It’s also pretty good at removing thin fine hairs.
Nevertheless, if you have peach fuzz the best method for you would definitely be threading so you should stop looking for the best upper lip hair removal products and find a threading salon.
It works on 2 AA batteries so that’s the only investment to be made in the many years to come.
It would have been better for it to rechargeable, especially if you plan on using the Emjoi e18 to remove hairs from the face and the underarms and the bikini line. This epilator can do all that without any problems because it has more tweezers than any other facial epilator.
A facial epilator turns out to be a pretty cheap method because it lasts so many years.
The only problem is that it’s going to be painful in the beginning and you will have to change the batteries pretty often in that situation.
Electrolysis: Find an Amazing Professional
An electrologist is the way to go if you plan on undergoing electrolysis sessions.
This is the only permanent upper lip hair removal method!
But be prepared to pay an average price of $600 for all the needed sessions, which might even take a whole year to be completed.
But once that year is over, you’ll never have to worry about which are the best upper lip hair removal products your entire life, that’s simply fantastic!
